Welcome to the Color Fusers blog hop and 12 Days of Christmas where I am sharing a card using the Framed & Festive stamp set.
Today’s card is not only for the Color Fusers challenge, but also my 5th share for the 12 Days of Christmas blog share with Brenda Nelson.
I had fun working with the neutral color palette for this project, and incorporated lots of cool products to create shimmer and interest!
The Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder is one of my favorites, and I thought this color challenge would be a great time to pull it out. The gray and black paired well together for a neutral base for the music, and Merry Merlot and Black elements added fun pops of color.
Staying with the neutral theme, I brought in silver cord, Basic Rhinestones, and Wink of Stella for shimmer. And I couldn’t resist adding some of these adorable die cut snowflakes into the mix! The snowflakes are from the Celebrations Tag die set. I have used the set on several projects recently. It is so good — and they are on sale! Sadly, they are retiring at the end of the month.
To create this card:
- use a 4 1/4″ x 11″ Smoky Slate card base and score at 5 1/2″
- cut a 3 1/2″ x 4 1/2″ piece of Smoky Slate and emboss
- die cut a Basic Black scallop edge strip using the Scalloped Contours dies
- use Basic White to die cut any label
- die cut snowflakes from Vellum Cardstock with Celebrations Tag dies
Splatter embossed layer with Merry Merlot ink and Wink of Stella. Adhere scalloped piece to bottom of embossed layer, then adhere to card front. Stamp sentiment in Merry Merlot ink on white label. Adhere a nest of silver cord to back, then add to card front with dimensionals. Add die cut snowflakes as desired, and finish it off with rhinestones. Stamp inside card as desired with Merry Merlot ink.
Thank You
