Welcome to 12 Days of Christmas with Brenda and Melanie! We are so happy to have you here to kick off this season. And I am starting it off with an adorable banner treat bag! So easy, and so cute! It’s perfect to hold baked goods or a gift.

My crafty friend Brenda Zorn, from Stamps & Stretchy Pants, and I have fun sharing holiday inspiration through our 12 Days of Christmas. This is our third year sharing with you and we can’t wait to share our adorable projects! We are doing something a little different this year by using 2 bundles for all of our projects, Homemade Treats and Gingerbread Man. They are both so stinkin’ cute! And by sharing so many projects using them, you will have tons of ideas for using your bundles!

#166017 Homemade Treats Bundle

Make Treats Extra Sweet

I love gifting treats to friends during the holidays. And it’s even more fun to gift them in adorable packages! This bag is really easy to create using the Party Banners Dies in any color cardstock you choose. Thick Basic White cardstock worked great for this bag. I added some All Season Velvet Specialty Paper around the top for color, then dressed it up with adorable elements from the Homemade Treats Bundle. It turned out adorable! And I couldn’t resist using some Peppermint Embellishments!

Inside the bag, I tucked some vanilla sponge cakes inside an Iridescent Treat Bag tied closed with Real Red & White Baker’s Twine. A little bit of red paper shreddie finished it off! So super cute!

To Create This Project

  • Cut (2) banners from Thick Basic White Cardstock using the 7th largest Party Banner Die
  • Thick Basic White cut 2-1/2″ x 11″, score at 1/4″ and 2-1/4″ on short edge and 3-3/4″ and 7-1/4″ on long edge
  • All Season Velvet (2) 5-1/2″ x 1″ pieces, score both at 2″ on long edge
  • (2) 12″ pieces of ribbon

Notch long strip at side score lines. Fold at all score lines and burnish well. This forms the sides and bottom of the bag. Apply Tear and Tape to the long edge of the strip, then adhere to banners. Adhere ribbon handles to outside of bag top. Apply Tear and Tape to velvet and adhere velvet around top edge of bag. Die cut cookie sheet with Silver Foil. Stamp and die cut (2) oven mitts and a rolling pin. Stamp and fussy cut sentiment. Embellish bag as desired.
