Just like that, it’s day 9, and today we are Yeti to Party! 12 Days of Christmas is flying by, and Brenda Nelson and I are having fun spending time with you, sharing all kinds of Christmas fun!

12 Days of Christmas 2022 with Brenda Nelson of Stamps and Stretchy Pans and Melanie Hockin of Mel's Inky Fingers.

Today’s project uses the adorable Yeti to Party stamp set. Now, it’s easy to focus on the yeti when you look at this set, but don’t overlook all the adorable line art elements included as well. It is a treasure, with so many creative options. Today, I did focus on the yeti, so I could show you how easy it is to add interactive elements and texture to your project. And can I just say, you can grab this stamp set and the coordinating Yeti Dies right now for under $20 – you can’t pass it up!

This big guy has a playful demeanor and I ran with it on this project. To create the yeti, I stamped the image on Snowy White Velvet sheet before die cutting. After adding him to my project, I added googly eyes, which are so fun! Who doesn’t like to shake googly eyes?! So not only is he interactive, he feels fuzzy, too!

The background was created with the Charming Landscapes 3D Embossing Folder set. This set contains 2 embossing folders, and these mountains work perfectly with our yeti. I added even more texture to the mountain tops by using Snowfall Accent Puff Paint to create snow caps. This stuff is the coolest! And if you have not used it before, you need to grab some while it is on the Last Chance list – it is under $2!

Yeti to Party

To create your yeti project:

  • Start with a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Thick Basic White card base, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Emboss a 5 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ piece of Basic White
  • Cut a 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ strip of White Glimmer Paper
  • Add a 1″ x 5 1/2″ strip of designer series paper

Randomly stamp snowflakes in Balmy Blue ink on card front. Adhere the designer series paper strip along bottom edge of card front. Add Puff Paint to mountain tops and heat. Adhere glimmer paper strip to bottom edge of mountain layer, then adhere to card front with dimensionals. Stamp yeti onto Snowy White Velvet sheet and die cut. Adhere to card front. Stamp a gift and coffee cup in Basic Gray ink. Color as desired and adhere to yeti. Add googly eyes to yeti. Stamp sentiment in Basic Gray ink on a strip of Basic White and adhere to card front. Stamp inside card as desired in Basic Gray ink.
