Thanks for joining us for the November Color Fusers Blog Hop where I am sharing a card made with the Brew Some Fun stamp set. When I saw the colors for this month, I thought this stamp set was perfect!

This month’s color challenge was definitely a challenge for me. To make it easier using the 4 colors, I focused on the brown tones to carry the theme of the stamp set, and used the Merry Merlot and Misty Moonlight to create a custom colored tea cup accent on my project with the adorable tea cup stamp in the Brew Some Fun stamp set.

Creating Custom Paper Accents

I wanted an accent with both Merry Merlot and Misty Moonlight. Since I could not find a designer series paper with these two colors, I created my own. The Pearlescent Specialty Paper was the perfect base to work with because of the added shimmer. This paper is so pretty!

A Water Painter was used to add rubbing alcohol to the paper, then I added Merry Merlot and Misty Moonlight ink and let the colors blend. Once dry, I stamped the tea cups in Early Espresso ink, then die cut them to create shimmery colored tea cups.

Stacking the tea cups together created a fun accent on the sentiment label. This sentiment label is from one of my favorite label die sets ever – Tasteful Labels Dies. A great label die set is a staple, and this definitely fits the bill! On this label, I love the embossed edge detail. I stamped along the bottom of the label with the adorable spoon stamp in Cinnamon Cider ink for added interest. And speaking of custom accents, I colored White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon with a Cinnamon Cider Stampin’ Blends Marker, which is perfect for this project.

To create this project:

  • Cinnamon Cider card base 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ scored at 4 1/4″
  • Early Espresso layer die cut with Ornate Layers Dies
  • Designer Series Paper layer cut 3 3/8″ x 4 7/8″
  • Cinnamon Cider die cut label

Stamp the tea cup randomly over the card front. Die cut a large layer using Early Espresso cardstock and the Ornate Layers dies. Cut the DSP layer and round the corners with the Detailed Trio Punch. Color ribbon as desired, and tie a bow around the DSP, then adhere to the die cut layer before adding to the card base. Die cut a large label. Stamp sentiment in Early Espresso ink and the spoons in Cinnamon Cider ink. Adhere to card front with dimensionals. Color Pearlescent paper as described above. Stamp and die cut 3 tea cups and layer onto card front. Embellish as desired with In Color Square Gems.
