This month’s colors are perfect for Fall, and I couldn’t resist creating with the gorgeous Beauty of Friendship Bundle. This bundle works all year long, but I especially enjoyed creating this card.
Evening Evergreen is one of the 2021-2023 In Colors, and has quickly become my favorite green to work with. Stampin’ Up! also has many items in this color, and one of my favorites is the Shimmer Vellum. I challenged myself to work with it on this project, and it didn’t take much to get an awesome result!
Have you noticed this Vellum?
I challenged myself to use the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum on this project, and decided to emboss it. The look of embossed vellum is really cool, and if you have not tried this, I definitely recommend doing so! Since I was going for a forest/foliage look, I couldn’t resist pulling out my Evergreen Forest 3D Embossing Folder. It pairs perfectly with the trees in this bundle. And when the Evening Evergreen vellum from the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum Collection is embossed, it looks amazing! It was exactly what I was going for. The shimmer doesn’t come through in the photo, but in real life – it’s gorgeous!
Pops of Color
Cajun Craze offers the perfect pop of color to use between the Just Jade and Evening Evergreen layers. I used it for just a bit of contrast with a mat layer, a scrap for a tree trunk, and the sentiment.
Finishing It Off
To tie it all together, I went with the earthy look of linen thread, which I nested behind the die cut tree. I also used some of the copper toned Brushed Metallic Dots, which tied in the red tones of the Cajun Craze.
To Create This Card:
- create a standard 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Just Jade card base, scored at 4 1/4″
- cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Just Jade designer paper for the front
- prepare a 3 3/4″ x 5″ Cajun Craze mat
- cut a 3 5/8″ x 4 7/8″ piece of Evening Evergreen Shimmer Vellum and emboss
- scrap/strip of Basic White for a sentiment
Adhere the designer paper to the card front. Emboss the vellum layer and attach to the Cajun Craze mat, then adhere to card front with dimensionals. Stamp a tree in Evening Evergreen ink and die cut. Adhere a nest of Linen Thread to the back of the tree, then add to card front with dimensionals. Fussy cut a Cajun Craze tree trunk and tuck under the tree. Stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze ink on Shimmery White cardstock, and add to card front. Embellish as desired with Brushed Metallic Dots.
