Thanks for joining us today for the Color Fusers February 2021 Blog Hop. Along with this color challenge, I am sharing the Wink of Stella Coloring Technique with you. This is a really easy way to color, and is sure to get a WOW! from whoever recieves your card!
This month brings some of my favorite colors – Bermuda Bay, Magenta Madness, and Gorgeous Grape. All 3 are so bright and cheery!
I decided to bring the colors together with the Wink of Stella coloring technique. It is really easy, and creates the most gorgeous, sparkly image ever! To do this, turn your ink pad upside down and squeeze, to apply ink to the lid of your ink pad case. You could also put a drop of ink from your reinker on the lid as well. Pick up a bit of ink with the Wink of Stella brush tip, and color your image as you choose. To use a different color, wipe the tip of the brush on a piece of scrap paper until clean, then move on to your next color.
It is difficult to capture the sparkle of the images in pictures, but trust me, it’s amazing!
Do you like FREE things?
The images used on today’s project are from the beautiful – and FREE- stamp set, A Touch of Ink. This exclusive stamp set can be earned FREE during the Sale-A-Bration promotion, which ends on February 28th. Make a purchase of any $100 in Stampin’ Up! products, and select this Level 2 set (or 2 Level 1 products) as your FREE gift with purchase!
This project layered up perfectly with the Oh So Ombre Designer Series Paper, which includes beautiful patterns in four colors, including Bermuda Bay. It is another exclusive Sale-A-Bration item. It was the perfect choice to go with this month’s color challenge! I ran it through the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Old World Paper 3D Embossing Folder before adding it to my project.
Did you notice the wings on the hummingbird?
I wanted to create dimension, and bring this little guy to life. To do this, I stamped, colored, then fussy cut the hummingbird image. I then stamped a second set of wings, colored and fussy cut them, and layered the wings on top of the first image with dimensionals. I curled the fussy cut wing tips with my bone folder, then adhered the bird to the card front with dimensionals. This little hummingbird looks like he is flying right off the card!
To finish it off, I stamped this adorable sentiment, and die cut it using the Tasteful Labels Dies, then layered it with a piece of Metallic Mesh Ribbon, one of my all-time favorites!
I hope you enjoyed seeing what I had to share today for the Color Fusers February 2021 Blog Hop, and will try the Wink of Stella coloring technique! Leave me a comment and tell me if you have tried it.
