Coolest Bundle Ever

Today I am sharing one of the coolest bundles ever!  The Cool Treats Suite of products in the Occasions catalog is one of my favorites.  The stamps, dies, and embellishments are just adorable, and so so fun!  It doesn't hurt that the color combination includes some of my favorites, and it is good for kids, and kids at heart!

Cool Treats Bundle and Product Suite

I recently did a birthday card class.  It was so fun!  We even had cake and gifts, after all, what would a party be without those!  And although this bundle has great cool treats, I wanted to create a birthday cake card to make at class.  Enter the ice cream cone dies.  This cone with slits works perfectly to create icing on this cake.  And when you layer multiple cuts of the cones, the dimension is really fun!

Now throw in the Sprinkles Embellishments, and it is a winner!

To make your own birthday cake card, start with a card base and top layer in Pool Party.  Add a strip of the Tasty Treats designer series paper, which is part of the Cool Treats Suite, backed with a strip of Early Espresso cardstock.  The placemat is made using the Layering Ovals framelits, and also cut from the Tasty Treats designer series paper and Early Espresso cardstock.  The plate is punched with circle punches, and the cake is made simply by stacking multiple die cuts from the Frozen Treats Framelits.  A silver foil spoon must be included with the cake.  And I finished it all off with a few square sequins from the Sprinkles Embellishments.  Add your sentiments in Early Espresso ink to complete the card.

Here is the color combination, give it a try:

Simple Happy Celebrations card

Have you ever looked at a card, and thought, 'Wow! How did they do that?'  Well, let me show you how easy it can be to make a card like that.

The new Celebrations Duo embossing folders in the Occasions catalog can be easy to miss.  They are tucked into the upper corner of page 40, which features the amazing stamp set, Happy Celebrations

That amazing stamp set happens to coordinate with these little gems.  These embossing folders actually deboss the image, meaning, instead of being raised (embossed), it indents the image (debossed).

Any Stampin' Up! embossing folder can create embossed or debossed pieces to use on your projects.  What is the benefit of using an image debossed you may ask?  Let me show you!

The affect you get after stamping over the top of the debossed image is amazing! The best part is, when the Celebrations Duo embossing folders are combined with the coordinating Happy Celebrations stamp set, the possibilities are endless!

This card is quick and easy.  After debossing with the Celebrate folder, I stamped over it with Pool Party and Bermuda Bay ink, using a circle stamp, which allows the sentiment to pop.  The rest of the sentiment was stamped in Bermuda Bay.  I embellished this card simply with 1/8" gold ribbon and a few gold sequins.  Finally, since Wink of Stella is one of my favorite crafting items ever, it found it's way onto this project as splatters across the card front.

Sealed with Love Sampler

Hello!  I am back today with a project we did at a recent class.  We used the Sending Love Suite on pages 14-15 in the Occasions catalog to make this seasonal home décor art piece.  It came together so nicely, and each person's project looked a bit different, which is always fun to see.

Sealed with Love Bundle sampler

Sending Love Suite: Sealed with Love bundle, Sending Love designer series paper

The Sending Love Suite includes a very cute stamp set called Sealed with Love, the Love Notes coordinating die set, a pretty collection of designer series papers done in Real Red and Whisper White prints, 1/8" ribbon in both Real Red and Whisper White, wood veneer embellishments, glassine paper, and adorable mini paperclips, which I want a bucketful of!

The design is simply eight separate squares, and for the center, I chose to cut a red glimmer paper heart using the Bloomin' Heart thinlet, which is on page 194 of the annual catalog.  In person, that heart is gorgeous!  Each square is created on a 3" x 3" piece of Real Red cardstock as the base, then mounted on a piece of Silver Shimmer designer series paper from the Neutrals Collection DSP stack on page 170 of the annual catalog.  Did you know there were silver and gold papers in that dsp collection?  They are beautiful!  You want need  them in your life!

For the Sending Love veneer embellishments, I put them directly onto my ink pad to color them.  I also stamped on some of them, to add a fun pattern before adhering to my project.  You can see this on the 'Hello Love' square.

This piece is framed in a 10" x 10" square frame.  I plan to swap out the artwork seasonally, so I have something fresh and fun to decorate with throughout the year.  This is the first class in a 4 part series which I am offering this year.  I will look forward to creating Spring artwork for my next class.

I kept the colors for this project simple:
