Color Fusers August 2023 Simple Congratulations

Welcome to the Color Fusers blog hop! Today, we are sharing a classic color combination. I just love these two blues together, especially with Pebbled Path. I went with a sea vibe, and created a simple congratulations card using layered designer series paper, a stamped focal point, and deconstructed trim.

Today’s project was simple and came together quickly. I started by choosing the perfect designer series paper, and pulled in the other supplies to create the feel I was going for. Our Designer Series Paper collections make matching products a breeze, because our products are coordinated so well, especially the color coordination. I got lucky to find the Let’s Go Fishing paper collection as being a great match for this month’s color challenge!

Did you notice the deconstructed trim?

This is a fun and easy detail to create. I started with a piece of Silver-Threaded Twine. I separated the strands, and used them to tie a knot around my front layer. It’s a cool look, and created a great backdrop for the anchor, too!

To Create this Card:

  • Thick Basic White card base cut 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, scored at 4 1/4″
  • Designer Series Paper Layers: 4 1/4″ x 5 and 3 1/8″ x 4 1/2″
  • Die cut Deckled Rectangle using 3rd from largest die
  • Designer Series Paper scraps to stamp anchor and sentiment

Adhere largest designer series paper layer to card front. Die cut a deckled rectangle using the 3rd from largest die and designer series paper. Adhere rectangle to other designer series paper layer. Stamp dots on rectangle layer in Pebbled Path ink. Cut a piece of Silver-Threaded twine. Separate all the strands. Tie a knot around deckled rectangle layer with strands of twine. Adhere layer to card front. Stamp anchor and sentiment on designer series paper and fussy cut before adhering to card front. Embellish with Rustic Metallic Dots as desired.

The Earthen Elegance suite is a new set of products in the Annual catalog. It has a beautiful earthy organic feel. The designer series paper is created with earth-tones and pops of purples, and is just lovely. But for this class, I wanted to mix it up, and show you a different look so you can see how versatile this bundle can be. It can sometimes be challenging to envision projects outside the look of a suite.

I love the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper collection, and thought is was perfect for this class. I love the playful patterns and bright colors. It was fun creating 3 cards with completely different color pallets using one paper collection.
