The 12 Days of Christmas Blog Hop is under way, and a great way to get holiday inspiration! Each day, my friend Brenda Nelson over at Stamps & Stretchy Pants and I are sharing holiday inspiration. Today I am sharing this quick and easy card. I hope you stop in to see us each day!

Keeping it Simple

When the season gets busy, it’s time to keep projects quick and easy! This card is just that. The embossed layer brings in a great textural element. And it’s fun to make several versions, mixing and matching patterned papers with different embossing folders.

The embossed layer could easily be substituted with designer series paper as well. And the Christmas Labels Dies are awesome! Lots of detail and a nice size to carry your sentiment as a focal point. The sentiments are so cute, and work for holidays or winter occasions.

Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper is colorful and bright, with bold prints. I loved using it to create this card, and HINT: you will see it again in the upcoming days!

To Create this Project

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock – 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″ card base
  • Basic White – 3 3/4″ x 5″ embossed layer
  • Label – die cut from Basic White cardstock
  • Reindeer Days Designer Series Paper – 3 3/4″ x 1″

Emboss the front layer with the Snowflake Sky 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to card base. Die cut label. Stamp sentiment in Real Red ink. Cut banner ends on each end of designer series paper strip and adhere to label, then adhere label to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tie ribbon in a knot, trim short, and adhere to label with a Mini Glue Dot. Embellish with peppermints. Stamp sentiment inside card with Real Red ink.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card made with the Christmas Labels Bundle.

Now head on over to see what Brenda has shared (HINT: it’s awesome)!

12 Days of Christmas Sophisticated Sled

Welcome to the 12 Days of Christmas with Brenda and Melanie! Can you believe we are kicking off our third year sharing amazing holiday crafting projects with you? For 12 days, Brenda and I will be posting adorable holiday crafting ideas, and it’s always so much fun! We want to inspire you to start creating, and gift your works of art this holiday season. You can find Brenda at Stamps & Stretchy Pants.

Each year I look forward to this partnership for the 12 Days of Christmas. What I love most about my Stampin’ Up! business is the friendships I create along the way. Brenda and I met because of Stampin’ Up!, and she is one of the many special people I look forward to seeing at every event. And even though we live on opposite ends of North America, we text and chat throughout the year. She is amazing, both in spirit and talent, and I am honored to share this with her!

Each day, Brenda and I will alternate posting an adorable project. Mine will be fairly simple, making it quick and easy to get your projects done this busy time of year. But simple can still be so cute! So check back each day to see what creativity we have to share. Than let us know what you think by leaving us a comment! We love to hear from you!

For 12 Days of Christmas day 1, I am sharing the Sophisticated Sled Bundle. These adorable folded tags are so easy, and I just love them! And they are so easy to create. You can make them in any color, and they can be used throughout the winter season. They open like a card, so you can write a special note inside for any occasion.

The Sophisticated Sled Bundle has been one of my favorites so far this season. It is part of the Online Exclusives in my online store. And this sled is a big reason why. Not only does this bundle have dies for the sled, but there is a sled stamp with a coordinating die as well. When you put them together, this is the result. The perfect gift tag!

And it’s fun pulling in different colors. The first tag was very traditional – Real Red and Silver Foil. However, I decided to try a Victorian color combination, creating with pink and gold. And the results are beautiful!

Here is a closer look at the bundle. I love the nostalgic feel. And the skates and sled images and dies are my favorite! Aren’t they cute?!

To create this project:

  • Basic White Cardstock – folded, then die cut just above the fold for the base
  • Any color foil – to die cut runners
  • Real Red/Petal Pink Cardstock – wooden sled pieces (can use any color)

Die cut the sled base first after folding the Basic White cardstock. The top of the die needs to be just above fold. This creates essentially a mini card, and opens so you can write inside. Adhere runners to sled base. Using Adhesive Sheet on your foil helps make the runners easy to stick down on your project. Adhere wood pieces with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp sentiment in black ink, fussy cut, and adhere to tag with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish with gems. Punch a small hole in the top of the tag and add a ribbon or twine hanger, than tie a bow around the hanger.

Thanks for stopping by!

We are so glad you have joined us for the 12 days of Christmas, and I hope you enjoyed my sled tag. Now, each day Brenda and I will take turns posting, so stop back each day! However, today we are both posting to kick off the 12 days! I will share another post on day 2!

Now hop on over to see Brenda at Stamps & Stretchy Pants. I just love her style, and her projects are always amazing! I know you will love them, too!

Color Fusers October 2024 Regal Flora

Card made for the October 2024 Color Fusers blog Hop featuring a color challenge and the Regal Flora Bundle. Project created by Melanie Hockin of Mel's Inky Fingers.

Welcome to the October Color Fusers Blog Hop where I chose to share using the Regal Flora Bundle. The beautiful floral images worked really well with this month’s color challenge, and I love the Petal Pink flowers!

I kept this month’s project really simple, using only the bundle, Basic White Cardstock, and embellishments. The color combination was so pretty, and really felt like fall to me, so I let it shine through.

The tag in the Regal Flora die set is a definite favorite! I love the rounded corners and edge detail. It is so unique, and adds an amazing element to any project.

Wild Wheat really speaks to me this time of year, I think it’s a great gold to work into fall and holiday crafting. It has made it into a lot of my projects the past couple of weeks! On today’s project, I used it for first and second generation stamping to vary the intensity of color for the foliage.
