March 2020 Color Fusers using Parisian Blossoms stamp set, Cherry Blossom dies, and the Parisian Flourish Embossing Folder

It's color time!  Welcome to the March 2020 Color Fusers Blog Hop.

CF March

I love when I am given a color challenge using colors I would never put together on my own – like Mint Macaron and Pear Pizzazz.  But I love how this project turned out using them together!

The floral blossoms in the Forever Blossoms stamp set worked perfectly to use all the colors well, and I love how the pop of color from the Garden Lane designer paper in Mint Macaron pulls it all together.

The Parisian Flourish embossing folder creates a gorgeous background!

This amazing background was created using the Parisian Flourish embossing folder.  I can't stop using it, it's just gorgeous!  You can see last month's project with this embossing folder here, and another with several products from the Parisian Blossoms product suite, which includes this embossing folder and stamp/die set on today's project, here.

The coloring is quick and easy with a watercolor wash on the flowers and stems, which adds just enough color.  And, although the floral spray looks great straight up,  I love the additional dimension added using the individual blossom and bud stamps and dies included in this set.

Just enough color and dimension thanks to a great stamp/die bundle and a little watercolor wash!

To create this card:

  • cut a Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock card base 5 1/2" x 8 1/2", and score at 4 1/4"
  • cut a Very Vanilla layer 3 5/8" x 4 7/8" and emboss with Parisian Flourish embossing folder
  • cut a piece of designer paper 3 3/4" x 5" for layering
  • cut a strip of Very Vanilla 3" x 1/2" for the sentiment

Adhere embossed layer to designer paper at an angle, and adhere to card front with dimensional.  Stamp the floral spray, 2 blossoms, and 1 bud in Soft Suede ink.  Color the flowers with Mint Macaron and the stems and leaves with a Pear Pizzaz watercolor wash using an Aqua Painter.  Die cut and adhere to card front.  Stamp sentiment in Soft Suede ink on vanilla Cardstock, and adhere to card front over a ribbon cluster.  Embellish as desired with Mint Macaron rhinestones from the Holiday Rhinestone collection.
