Decorating for the season is always fun, but I find I don't usually decorate much for Halloween.  I am not sure why, as it makes things much more festive.  Plus, the products Stampin' Up! offers makes it easier than ever to create some great décor pieces, and making home décor is always something I enjoy. This wreath was no exception.  And the shimmer to it is simply gorgeous!

Sparkly Halloween Wreath made with Halloween Night Washi Tape, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, Burlap Ribbon and Silver Glitter Ribbon

Halloween Night Washi Tape, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, Burlap Ribbon, and Silver Glitter Ribbon

Using Halloween Night washi tape, Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, and some ribbon, this came together in a little over an hour.  It is simple enough to do with kids, and makes a great gift, as it is affordable to make.  You could actually make several wreaths from one set of supplies, making it ideal for gifting!  Christmas wreaths for teachers and neighbors would make fulfilling your gift list a snap.

Speaking of washi tape, have you tried Stampin' Up! washi tape?  It is an incredible value.  Packaged 5 rolls to a set for most collections, they are about $1.50 a roll.  And they adhere really well, making them ideal for multiple uses, not just paper crafting.

Now, back to the wreath.  To make your wreath, choose your favorite 4 washi tapes from the Halloween Night washi tape collection featured in the Holiday Catalog (page 51).  Some may require a little trimming, but most of our washi is the perfect width–bonus!  Using standard clip clothespins (60 total), I covered 10 each in the 4 washi tapes, 10 with Pumpkin Pie Glimmer Paper, and the last 10 in the fabulous Silver Glitter Ribbon from the Holiday Catalog (page 37).  This ribbon is beyond gorgeous, and actually comes as a combo pack, paired with a roll of Sweet Sugarplum ribbon (ready for Valentine's Day?).  What I love about this ribbon, is it is not actually glitter, so it is clean and smooth….no sparkly mess!  I adhered it to the clothespins using Tear & Tape adhesive, which worked perfectly.  Clip the clothespins to a 12" metal wreath form, than hot glue them into place.  Make a gift-style bow using 5/8" Burlap ribbon.  This burlap ribbon was so easy to work with, and has just the right amount of body to make the perfect bow!  I used 3 yards for my bow, and I think it had the exact amount of fullness I was looking for.  Tie it to the wreath form.  Add a piece of ribbon for a hanger, and enjoy!  Since almost all of our washi tape collections contain 5 rolls, any of them would make a great choice for your wreath.

Here are the colors I worked with, and added some silver shimmer for good measure.

Now, head on over to my store, and grab your wreath supplies.  There is still time! And while you're there, grab some Christmas washi tape as well, and pair it with Red Glimmer Paper for a beautifully festive look!
