Jul 31, 2021 | Product Share |
Woohoo! It’s almost time for the July – December 2021 Mini Catalog, which means it’s time for July-December Mini Catalog Product Shares!
Mini Catalog Product Shares
With the launch of a new catalog, I often offer new product shares. These are only available for pre-order. Once the pre-order closes, I order all the goodies, divide them up, package them, and ship them to you!
What is a Product Share?
A product share is a portion of a whole pack of product, such as paper, ribbon, or embellishments. With multiple people joining in, I divide full packs of products, so you can enjoy a sampling of many things with much less investment than ordering full packs. The only way to get this sampling of products is to order July-December 2021 Mini Catalog Product Shares.

Jul 19, 2021 | Background Techniques, Blog Hops, Cards - All Occasions, Gallery |
Thanks for joining the Maui Trip Achievers July 2021 Blog Hop where I am featuring a card with an embossed ombre background technique. This was a project featured on my weekly Facebook Live a couple weeks ago, and was so much fun to make!
The Maui Trip Achievers are a group of demonstrators who achieved the amazing Stampin’ Up! Maui incentive trip in 2021. Whether you are starting here, or visiting from another blog, please continue to hop along with us to see all the amazing projects!
Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks are one of two different sets of decorative masks Stampin’ Up! offers. This set is brand new from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, and I was so happy to see them added to the line-up. It was time to pull them out and play, so they are the focus of my project today.
Creating interesting backgrounds can be a snap when using a mask. They can be used in many different ways, but I find the easiest is simply applying ink over the top using a Blending Brush, brayer, sponge, or any other inking tool. I prefer the Blending Brushes. They are amazing, and a perfect choice to use with the masks.
Ink Blending with Decorative Masks
There are a few items you will need to use masks on your project.
I will often also use washi tape, or post-it tape, to hold the mask in place. Use any colors you would like, so no 2 projects ever need to be the same!
Here are the colors I used:
For this project, I chose to apply the ink diagonally across the paper, to create a cool rainbow ombre look. I used several ink colors, blending them together as I went. What color combination would you like?
The Finishing Touch
My favorite part of this project is the clear embossing added over the ink. It adds cool texture, and really steps up this project.
To add the clear embossing, I left the mask on my my project after inking. I carefully wiped it with a paper towel to lift any ink off the mask. Then, using my VersaMark pad, I squished it all over the inked layer. I lifted the mask, and sprinkled clear embossing powder over the whole piece before heating with my Heat Tool. The result is so cool!!
To help the colors pop, I used a Basic Black layer, with black accents. The sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set, and is heat embossed using white embossing powder on Basic Black cardstock, and some Matte Black Dots pull it all together.

Jul 5, 2021 | 2021-2022 Annual Catalog, Blog Hops, Color Fusers, Gallery, Heat Embossing |
Welcome to the July 2021 Color Fusers Blog Hop where I am sharing a card using heat embossing and the Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set.
When I saw gold in this month’s color line up, I decided to pull out my heat tool and use gold embossing powder. Nothing reproduces the gorgeous look of heat embossing with metallic embossing powders! I chose a stamp with a lot of detail to capture the beauty of this technique.
Gold Foil was the perfect choice to pair with the gold heat embossing, and with Basic Black thrown in the mix, I added black accents with a Basic Black layer, and a Basic Black greeting. I embossed the greeting in white embossing powder. I love how the white pops! This sentiment is from the Biggest Wish stamp set, and this Hello is one of my favorites from the Annual Catalog!
How to Heat Emboss
Heat embossing is a WOW!, but is quite easy. You do need a Heat Tool, and special ink for the technique, as well as embossing powder. Stampin’ Up! offers 6 different choices.
Once you have tried this technique, you will love it! The tools are definitely worth the investment!
To create this project:
- Cut a Petal Pink card base 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ and score at 4 1/4″
- Cut a Basic Black layer 4″ x 5 1/2″
- Cut a Gold Foil layer 3 7/8″ x 5 1/2″
- Cut a Basic White layer 3 3/4″ x 4 7/8″
Stamp the sunflowers randomly on the Basic White layer in VersaMark ink. Heat emboss with gold embossing powder. Using a Blending Brush, add Petal Pink ink to the white layer as desired. Die cut the end of the gold and Basic Black layers with the ric-rak die from the Basic Borders die set. Adhere both layers together, and add to white layer. Tie gold cord around layer, and adhere to card base. Stamp sentiment in VersaMark ink on a scrap of Basic Black cardstock, and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Adhere to card front. Embellish as desired with gems.
