Color Fusers January 2022 Slim Sayings

Welcome to the Color Fusers January 2022 Blog Hop where I am sharing a sneak peek of the Slim Sayings bundle, which is the perfect bundle to create amazing slim line style cards. This bundle is from the new January – June 2022 Mini Catalog which launches tomorrow. The dies are versatile, and can be used multiple ways. It worked perfectly to showcase the January color challenge.

It is always an exciting time welcoming a new catalog, and all the amazing new products it brings. Today’s card showcases not only the super cool Slim Sayings stamp and die bundle, but new twine. If you know me, you know I love twine! The Fan Baker’s Twine pack brings us three new spools of twine to create with!

Slim Card Background Fun

The Slim Card Dies is a set of 4 dies, including 2 very large layering dies, and 2 beautiful edge dies. What I love most about these dies is how they provide endless possibilities to be creative with fun backgrounds. This card has such a simple clean feel, and I love it! And it’s an impressive card – this guy measures 8 1/4″ x 3 3/4″!

This colorful chevron background is made with one of the layering background dies. It is so easy! And while creating this card, I had multiple pieces left over to make many more cards. The icing on the cake for this bundle is the large bold sentiments from the Slim Sayings stamp set. They are the perfect size to balance the large scale of these cards.

To create this card:

  • cut a 7 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Night of Navy card base, score at 3 3/4″ on short side
  • use a 3 1/4″ x 8 1/4″ Night of Navy mat layer
  • cut a 3 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Night of Navy layer to die cut front
  • multiple pieces of 3 1/2″ x 5″ cardstock for die cutting

Fold card base on score line and burnish well with bone folder. Die cut Night of Navy cardstock with Slim Card die. Adhere frame to Night of Navy mat. Die cut chevron pieces from multiple colors of cardstock. Inlay pieces into background frame and adhere in place. Stamp sentiment on Blushing Bride cardstock in Night of Navy ink. Layer onto Night of Navy and Mint Macaron cardstock. Adhere onto card front with dimensionals. Tie a Night of Navy twine bow and adhere to sentiment. Embellish with navy rhinestones. To stamp inside, place a Basic White layer inside and stamp sentiment in Night of Navy ink.

Thanks for stopping by for the Color Fusers January 2022 Blog Hop featuring the Slim Sayings Bundle. This bundle is the perfect bundle to create amazing slim line style cards. As you can see, the dies are versatile, and can be used multiple ways. I know you will love it! It will be available starting tomorrow. I will update the product links to shop, so stop back!

Color Fusers December 2021 Bright Baubles

Welcome to the December 2021 Color Fusers blog hop where I am sharing a card made with the Bright Baubles bundle and a fun piecing technique.

This month’s color challenge is traditional Christmas, with a little pink added, and I knew this gorgeous die from the Delicate Baubles die collection would be perfect to feature the colors. I used the traditional colors as the focal point, and pulled in the Petal Pink for the background. It works nicely together to really draw your eye to the beautiful details of the die cut.

I wanted my project to feature a multicolored die piece. So, I cut the die 3 times, once in Cherry Cobbler cardstock, which I used as the base, once in Evening Evergreen designer paper, and once in Shimmery White cardstock. I then cut each part I wanted from each color, and adhered it to the Cherry Cobbler base. Using Adhesive Sheets made this really easy!

Details, details…

There are several other details added to this project. I used the Painted Texture Embossing Folder on the Petal Pink background layer to create texture Then, I added Shimmery Crystal Effects to the snow flakes, which creates some shine and shimmer. Lastly, I added Cherry Cobbler gems to decorate the tree. These gems are a special release, and while supplies last. If you like them, grab a pack before they are gone by clicking the image below!

Did you notice the narrow ribbon? It is actually the Evening Evergreen Open Weave ribbon, and I cut it lengthwise to remove this fine satin edge, which is used to create the bulb hanger and bow. It worked great!

To create this project:

  • fold a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock at 5 1/2″ for the card base
  • cut a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of Shimmery White cardstock
  • layer a 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of designer series paper under white layer

Use a Water Painter and add an ink wash to the Shimmery White layer using Petal Pink ink. While drying, die cut the bauble background from Petal Pink cardstock, and emboss with an embossing folder. Die cut 3 tree dies in 3 different colors. Cut apart pieces from the evergreen and white trees, and adhere over the top of the Cherry Cobbler die cu. Add details, including ribbon bow and a sentiment stamped in Cherry cobbler ink.

Thank you for joining me for the December Color Fusers blog hop where I shared a card made with the Bright Baubles bundle and a fun piecing technique.. I hope you continue to hop along with us to see what the other Color Fusers have created.
