Fun in the Sun Craftin’ Cruise

I am so excited to share details about the 2026 Fun in the Sun Craftin’ Cruise co-hosted by Melanie Hockin and Brenda (Nelson) Zorn!

My talented friend Brenda (Nelson) Zorn and I will be hosting a retreat at sea onboard the Royal Caribbean Navigator of the Seas for 7 incredible days of fun in the sun!

We will depart the Los Angeles cruise terminal in San Pedro, California on July 31, 2026 and return August 7, 2026. This cruise travels down the California Baja Peninsula to Mexico, where we will visit the ports of Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, and Mazatlan.

While we are on board, you will be able to join us for a week of amazing creative fun! Brenda and I have so much planned, including about 6 classes, games, prizes, party time and more! The crafting space will be open 24/7, allowing you to craft when you choose and vacation as you would like, so your schedule is your own!

The event fee is $275 US and includes the following:

  • about 6 classes (cards, 3-D projects, memory keeping and more)
  • lots of fun new supplies to create your projects
  • project kits
  • project PDFs
  • a daily gift
  • treats
  • games
  • prizes
  • and a pre-cruise welcome package to kick it all off!

This fee is broken into two payments, a $75 deposit due at booking, and the balance of $200 due March 1, 2026. After submitting the registration form, Melanie or Brenda will send a payment request for your deposit (Paypal invoice or ET request). The Fun in the Sun Craftin’ Event is separate from any cruise payments.

Everyone is welcome!! Stateroom booking will be completed through Eva Wallart at Ahoy Travel. To attend the event, bookings must be coordinated through Eva. And although you must book with Eva to attend the event, not everyone in your stateroom must attend the crafting event, so feel free to vacation with family, friends and anyone else you would like to join you!

We are getting lots of questions about cabin pricing. Pricing changes frequently, and Brenda and I are unable to provide accurate prices for cabins. If you have travel or booking related questions, please reach out to Eva Wallart.

To complete booking your trip, you will also register for the Fun in the Sun Craftin’ Event with Brenda and Melanie. We have a limited amount of space, so registration will be on a first come, first served bases.

Two deposits will be due to complete booking. One is required at the time of booking your stateroom ($500 for double occupancy, so $250/person). The balance of your stateroom is due by April 24, 2026. All stateroom payments will go through Eva. The second deposit is for the Fun in the Sun event, as outlined above.

If you live in the United States and complete registration by July 25th, you will receive an Early Bird gift as a thank you! To earn this, both your cruise deposit and event deposit must be made by July 25th. You will then get to choose a bundle of your choice from the 2026-2027 Annual Catalog (up to $50) to be included in your welcome package!

If you have any questions about the event, feel free to reach out to:

Color Fusers July 2025 – Simple Patriotic Card

Color Fusers July 2025 patriotic project made with the Simply Said stamp set, Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and 6x6 designer series paper color collections featuring Night of Navy, Cherry Cobbler and Smoky Slate. Project made by Melanie Hockin of Mel's Inky Fingers.

Welcome to the July Color Fusers blog hop! I am sharing a simple patriotic card with you today that you can recreate with any patterned paper or colors!

We have some amazing projects to share today with a patriotic color challenge. I made this project a couple weeks ago before I realized we would go live after the 4th of July in the United States, but decided to share anyway.

This project is so incredibly simple, as the patterns on the designer series paper do all the heavy lifting to make it look like an American flag. I love the patterns in the 6×6 color assortment paper packs this year! I have been using them a lot.

The blue pattern was embossed with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to represent stars.

A good sentiment set always comes in handy. Today I used the Simply Said stamp set. It has great choices for any occasion.

To Make this Project:

  • Thick Basic White Cardstock: 4-1/4″ x 11″
  • Basic White Cardstock: 3-3/4″ x 5″ and 3-7/8″ x 5-1/8″
  • Smoky Slate Cardstock: 3-1/2″ x 1/2″
  • Designer Series Paper: 2-1/4″ x 2-1/4″ in Night of Navy and 6″ x 2-1/2″ in Cherry Cobbler stripe

Emboss the Night of Navy designer series paper with the Eyelet 3D Embossing Folder and adhere to top left corner of smallest Basic White layer. Adhere Cherry Cobbler striped designer series paper at an angle. Trim any overhang. Adhere a piece of ribbon along bottom edge of striped designer series paper, adhering ends on back of layer. Adhere to remaining Basic White layer, than adhere layer to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp sentiment in Night of Navy ink on Smoky Slate strip. Trim ends, and adhere over ribbon with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Tie a ribbon bow and tuck under edge of sentiment, adhering in place with a Mini Glue Dot. Embellish with Iridescent Gems. Stamp sentiment inside card in Night of navy ink.

Thank You

Thanks for hopping with us today, I hope you liked my simple patriotic card. Now hop along to see what the other Color Fusers have to share.
