Simple Embossed Card with A Child is Born

Before we know it, the holiday season will be upon us! So today, I have pulled out the beautiful A Child is Born stamp set for a simple embossing card. I love the line art, beautiful sentiments, and adorable animals in this stamp set.

It was fun creating projects with this set on my live last week, and I will be sharing both with you here. This first project is simple, combining an embossed layer and a heat embossed focal image. You can pull in any embossing folder you would like. I used the Dotted Circles 3D Embossing Folder.

For this version, I used white embossing powder. However, I think it would look beautiful in any color.

And this second version is done in gold embossing powder. It’s hard to pick up the sparkle in photographs, but this card is shiny and sparkly in real life.

I kept the inside very simple by stamping the sentiment in Secret Sea ink. For the gold version, I also added a few Gold Shaker Stars – which are flat and amazing for both the front and inside of a card!

To Create This Project

Card Base – Secret Sea cut 4-1/4″ x 11″ and scored at 5-1/2″
Embossed Layer – Secret Sea cut 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ embossed with any embossing folder
Front Layer – Secret Sea 3-3/4″ x 5″
Inside Layer – Basic White 3-3/4″ x 5″

Adhere embossed layer to card front. Stamp main image and sentiment on front layer in Versamark ink. Add embossing powder and heat with a Heat Tool. Wrap twine around layer and tie in a bow. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish with Snowflakes or gold stars. Stamp inside sentiment in Secret Sea ink on Basic White layer. Adhere layer inside card. Add gold stars if desired.
