Welcome to the April blog hop where I am sharing a simple card made with the Thoughtful Wishes Bundle.

Stampin’ Up! recently released the list of items moving to the Last Chance section of my online store. And when I saw the colors for this month’s color challenge, I knew just what I wanted to work with!

It seems like each year when I pull items going away with the changing catalog, I find a couple treasures that didn’t get nearly enough love – and this year, the Thoughtful Wishes stamp set was one of those! This color challenge was perfect to coordinate with it! And if you want some great deals, or to get some items still on your wish list, now is the time to check out the Last Chance section that is while supplies last!

Creating this was pretty simple. I blended a bit of ink in the background, then stamped some of the greenery images to create a base for layering. Then I added the thistle images and my sentiment. It came together quickly.

The Thoughtful Wishes Bundle is beautiful! If you don’t have this in your stash, you might want to consider it before it’s gone! The coordinating dies are fabulous and I have used them a lot for layering elements on a variety of projects. They mix with so many other stamps and dies.

Adding layers of interest in the background made this fun to create! This project has ink blending, stamping and splattering to create the backdrop for the focal images.

To Create this Card

  • Card Base: 4-1/4″ x 11″ Scored at 5-1/2″ in Basic White
  • Front Layer: 3-3/4″ x 5″ in Basic White
  • For Stamping: 4″ x 4″ in Basic White
  • Sentiment: 2″ x 1″ in Basic Black

Lightly blend a Balmy Blue area in center of front layer. Stamp the foliage image 2-3 times without reinking on card front in Lemon Lime Twist ink. Repeat on front layer, stamping twice. Stamp dots on front layer in Balmy Blue ink. Splatter layer with Basic Black ink and Wink of Stella. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp thistle image twice in Versamark ink on Basic White cardstock and heat emboss in black. Lightly watercolor, then die cut. Adhere to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Stamp sentiment in Versamark ink on Basic Black cardstock and heat emboss in white. Die cut with Wonderful Thoughts dies. Tie a twine bow and adhere to back of sentiment. Adhere sentiment to card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Embellish with dots.
