Welcome to the Color Fusers September 2023 blog hop where I am sharing a project created with the Joy of Noel bundle. This bundle is from the September – December 2023 Holiday Catalog which debuts this week!
This month’s color challenge is a beautiful non-traditional Christmas color combination. Blackberry Bliss is one of my favorite colors, and I dove right in!
I brought in a new specialty paper from the Holiday Catalog, too! This paper collection is called Snowflake Magic Specialty Paper, and is a collection of foil papers. They are all gorgeous! This pattern is particularly awesome, because color can be added to create a custom layer.
Adding a Watercolor Wash
Watercolor wash backgrounds are an easy way to lift your project. I used the large brush in the Water Painter set and brushed Berry Burst ink across the Snowflake Magic Specialty Paper. After it dried, I added a Blackberry Bliss splatter.
The images where stamped from the stamp set and also watercolored for a consistent look. And look at these letters — aren’t they awesome?!
To Create this Card
- Card base of Blackberry Bliss cut 11″ x 4 1/4″, scored at 5 1/2″ (side fold)
- Front layer of Blackberry Bliss die cut with Scalloped Contours Dies
- Snowflake Magic layer cut 4 5/8″ x 3 1/4″
- Basic White cardstock for stamping and die cutting
Layer the watercolor washed Snowflake Magic specialty paper to the die cut rectangle, and adhere to card base with dimensionals. Stamp foliage image in Lost Lagoon ink. Watercolor as desired. Die cut and adhere to card front with dimensionals. Stamp letters in Blackberry Bliss ink. Adhere stamped letters to foam sheet before die cutting, then adhere to card front. Tie a bow with silver cord and adhere to letter. Embellish as desired with rhinestones. Stamp inside and envelop flap as desired.
