Today I am sharing a Color Fusers Blog Hop April 2021 You Are Amazing Graduation card. Thanks for joining us.

Color Fusers April 2021 Color Challenge with Real Red, Old Olive and Seaside Spray.

The You Are Amazing Stamp Set is from the January to June 2021 Mini Catalog. This set coordinates with the bright and colorful You Are Amazing Project Kit, but it is also a great set for creating sentiment focal points, due to the bold fonts used. The deep colors in this month’s color challenge work perfectly for featuring these bold sentiments. So when I saw this color challenge, I knew it was time to create a graduation card.

I pulled Seaside Spray as the core color for the card base, then brought in the beautiful matching metallic ribbon for an accent. The deeper color from Real Red and Old Olive provided the contrast for the sentiment focal points. Seaside Spray is a retiring In Color, so I am glad I got to enjoy it one more time for this card. It has been a favorite of mine!

After stamping the Congrats sentiment repeatedly on the background layer, I embossed it with the Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine using one of my favorite embossing folders, the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder. This has been a staple of mine for a long time, but sadly, it is a retiring product, and is only available while supplies last.

The Hippo & Friends Dies include stitched rectangles with cropped corners, which were a great fit for this sentiment layer. After stamping and die cutting the sentiment, I added Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon to the back. This is also on the retiring list, and on sale! To get the two-tone sentiment, I used the edge of my ink pads applied directly to the stamp, and inked just the portion of the stamp I wanted colored. You may also use sticky notes to mask off parts of your stamp while inking.

To create this project:

  • cut a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ Seaside Spray card base, scored at 4 1/4″
  • cut a 4″ x 5 1/4″ Seaside Spray layer for front
  • scrap of Seaside Spray cardstock to die cut a label

Repeatedly stamp sentiment down the left side of front layer using Old Olive ink. Run layer through embossing machine with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder before adhering to card front with dimensionals. Ink sentiment in Old Olive and Real Red ink, and stamp on Seaside Spray scrap. Die cut label using the Hippo & Friends Dies. Add Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon to label, then adhere to card front with dimensionals. Embellish as desired with Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels. Stamp inside as desired.

I hope you enjoyed this quick and easy card. Graduation season is right around the corner. You can easily make several of these in an evening so you are ready for the occasion!
