Vellum pineapple card-2

Hello, and welcome back!

I'm happy you came to visit today so I can share this fun and adorable card with you.  I love the simple monochromatic look.  The embellishments step it up, and those sequins…….WOW!

I will be sending these to my team members who are celebrating birthdays this month, and a thank you version to my customers who have recently purchased from me.

This project uses the Timeless Tropical bundle and Tropical Oasis designer paper which are from the Timeless Tropical product suite in the 2020 January-June mini catalog.  I have loved working with this suite of products, and for those of you who joined in on the fun with us in California for the Spring Luau Retreat, you know what I'm talking about!

#153811 Timeless Tropical Bundle

#1561252 Tropical Oasis Designer Series Paper

The entire Timeless Tropical product suite is packed with amazing products!  Including one of my favorite embossing folders, and beautiful Memory & More cards, which I will feature on upcoming projects.

The color combination on this project is a monochromatic palette of Pool party and Bermuda Bay.  The Iridescent Sequins pull the blue and green hues together so beautifully.

I don't think these sequins get enough press…..but they are gorgeous!  And go with tons of colors, which change depending on what they are paired with.

#144212 Iridescent Sequin Assortment

Are you able to pick out the sequin colors on today's project?  There are many colors in the pack, which come in 3 different sizes.  A pack will last a while.

Stampin' Tip:  I find the Fine Tip Glue Pen and Take Your Pick Tool essentials when working with small embellishments, like sequins and rhinestones.  They make handling and adhering them a snap, and so easy to get perfect placement.

#138309 Fine Tip Glue Pen

#144107 Take Your Pick Tool

To create this card:

  • Cut a Pool Party card base 4 1/4" x 8 1/2", score at 4 1/4" and fold
  • Cut a Bermuda Bay cardstock layer 4" x 4"
  • Cut a designer paper layer 3 3/4" x 3 3/4"
  • Cut a 2 3/8" x 1" strip of Pool Party cardstock for sentiment
  • Die cut a pineapple and pineapple crown from Vellum cardstock

Adhere Bermuda Bay then designer paper layer to card front.  Adhere vellum pineapple and crown to card front using multipurpose glue.  Stamp sentiment in Bermuda Bay ink on Pool Party cardstock, trim banner end, and adhere to card with dimensionals.  Tie a bow with striped Bermuda Bay ribbon and adhere to pineapple with a glue dot.  Embellish as desired with iridescent sequins using a Fine Tip Glue pen.  Stamp sentiment on the inside in Bermuda Bay ink.
