Thanks for hopping along with the Color Fusers today where I am sharing a card made with a scrap buster technique and the new In Colors.
New colors are always an exciting part of every new Annual Catalog. And tomorrow, the new catalog will launch. Not only do we have these beautiful new In Colors, but this year there is a whole color refresh!
I can’t wait to create with our fresh color line.
It can be tricky to include 5 colors on a project, but I thought this scrap buster technique worked perfectly to bring them all in. I have already been busy creating with the new In Colors, and have plenty of scraps. This technique is great for using up strips.
Scrap Buster Technique
When your scrap piles get the best of you, pull out strips of all different colors and create some focal pieces. This technique is so easy. First, start with a piece of Basic White cardstock. Next, arrange strips of cardstock on white layer to completely cover the white, and adhere in place. Liquid multipurpose glue works best for this. Finally, trim off what extends beyond the edge of the white cardstock. You can now use this piece for a layer or to die cut pieces for your projects.
To Create This Project
8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ Moody Mauve card base, scored at 4 1/4″
4 1/4″ x 3 1/4″ Basic Black
4 1/4″ x 2 1/2″ Basic White
multiple 1/2″ strips of various cardstock scraps
Fold card base in half and burnish well. Stamp sentiment from Biggest Wish stamp set in bottom corner with black ink. Stamp plus image randomly on card front in Moody Mauve ink. Die cut scalloped edge on black cardstock layer using the Scalloped Contours dies. Add liquid glue to white layer. Cover with strips of cardstock scraps, completely covering white layer. Trim anything that extends beyond the white layer. Adhere to black die cut layer using dimensionals. Tie a black twine bow around strip layer, then adhere to card base with dimensionals. Embellish as desired with black dots. Stamp desired sentiment inside card in black ink.

What are Catalog Shares & Samplers
Product Share – a product share is a partial pack of all the items listed, grouped and packaged for easy use. This is perfect for trying lots of different products, to see which ones you love, or to have a little of everything offered! It is a great way to get lots of variety at a fraction of the cost when compared to buying full packs.
Paper Sampler – paper samplers are actually creative tools used to either display a paper collection, or to use while you are crafting. These are invaluable to coordinate products while you are working. Each collection set features all the designer paper patterns, the catalog name and image, item number, detailed information as needed, and coordinating colors all in a compact tool. The best part….once you no longer want the sampler, you can pull it apart and use the paper to create!
Color Deck – a collection of cardstock representing all 53 colors in the Stampin’ Up! color line. This measures 3 1/2″ x 4 1/4″ and is secured in deck form, which can be used to coordinate and compare colors on your projects.

A proven favorite! Paper collections that are 12″ x 12″ are in a 4″ x 6″ sampler, and 6″ x 6″ paper collections are left full size.

Details
Both paper shares will include 1/4 package of each paper collection listed (except Delightfully Eclectic).
Most paper that is 12″ x 12″ will be cut 6″ x 12″ with occasional exception. Paper that is 6″ x 6″ is left full size. Paper size is cut to maximize pattern when necessary.
The Ribbon Share will include 1/4 of a spool, which will be approx 1 1/4 or 2 1/2 yards of each ribbon. This measurement is not exact as it will be a true 1/4 of each spool.
Embellishment Shares will include 1/5 of each pack of embellishment listed. The number for each will vary, and is according to package quantity/size.
