Darling Details and Free Card Class

I shared some adorable projects over on Facebook, created with the Darling Details bundle. This is such a fun bundle to create with!

Parakeet Party is one of my favorite greens. I love the bright vibrant color! And it pairs great with Berry Burst, which I used to create the flowers on this project. I built in texture with specialty papers and detail dies on this card. This card is my favorite in this class!

The Earthen Elegance suite is a new set of products in the Annual catalog. It has a beautiful earthy organic feel. The designer series paper is created with earth-tones and pops of purples, and is just lovely. But for this class, I wanted to mix it up, and show you a different look so you can see how versatile this bundle can be. It can sometimes be challenging to envision projects outside the look of a suite.

I love the Delightfully Eclectic Designer Series Paper collection, and thought is was perfect for this class. I love the playful patterns and bright colors. It was fun creating 3 cards with completely different color pallets using one paper collection.

How to Earn Your Kit

When you shop in my online store and place an order of at least $35 using the current host code, you will receive the class kit to create 2 each of all 3 featured projects, including 6 card kits, a PDF, and the link to the live if you would like to watch how I create them. Color Fusers July 2023 Beauty of the Deep

Sea scene created with the Beauty of the Deep bundle and clear heat embossing featuring the July 2023 Color Fusers color challenge and how to color heat embossing. Card created by Melanie Hockin of Mel's Inky Fingers.

Thanks for stopping by today for the Color Fusers blog hop where I am sharing how to create a sea scene using the Beauty of the Deep bundle, heat embossing, Vellum Cardstock plus a tip to create colored embossed elements.

Azure Afternoon is one of our new core colors, and it is such a beautiful medium blue. It reminds me of the Caribbean! So I decided to create a sea scene using the Beauty of the Deep bundle. I love the delicate detail in the stamps and awesome coordinating accent dies available in the bundle.

Using clear embossing, I added images to create a monotone look to the card base and front layer. For the scene, I created several fun die cut pieces, including colored heat embossed fish.

Creating Colored Embossed Elements

Creating colored embossed elements is quite easy. To do this, you need both a Versamark Pad and a Classic Ink Pad in your choice of color. First, ink your stamp with Versarmark, then with the Classic ink before stamping. Once you stamp the image, add clear embossing powder and heat. Your image will now be the color of your ink!

Sea scene created with the Beauty of the Deep bundle and clear heat embossing featuring the July 2023 Color Fusers color challenge and how to color heat embossing. Card created by Melanie Hockin of Mel's Inky Fingers.

To Create This Card

  • Card base Azure Afternoon cardstock 4 1/4″ x 11″ scored at 5 1/2″
  • Front layer Azure Afternoon 3 3/4″ x 5″
  • Multiple Vellum cardstock coral die cuts
  • Angelfish Pumpkin Pie and Vellum cardstock die cuts
  • Small fish Daffodil Delight and Vellum cardstock die cuts

Stamp kelp and coral on card base and front layer in Versamark ink and heat emboss using clear embossing powder. Adhere front layer to card base. Create fish by inking stamp in Versamark then classic ink before stamping on Vellum. Heat emboss with clear embossing powder and die cut. Die cut a coordinating cardstock piece for each fish, and adhere together. Cut several coral pieces from Vellum cardstock and add to card front. Arrange fish on card front and adhere in place. Add a sentiment of choice. Finish inside card as desired.
